Fire Weather Watch

... Fire Weather Watch in effect Friday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a Fire
Weather Watch... which is in effect Friday afternoon.

Windy conditions with 20 foot winds potentially exceeding 20 mph
are possible Friday afternoon as low pressure moves east across
Oklahoma. Additionally a very warm and dry west flow will drop
relative humidity in the watch area to below 15 percent resulting
in the potential for critical fire weather conditions in the
afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not throw cigarettes onto the ground or out of a moving
vehicle. Keep vehicles on driving surfaces... and do not drive
through tall grass. Avoid activities that may produce outdoor
flames or Sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the potential to
grow rapidly into dangerous... wind-driven wildfires.
