Flood Warning


The Flood Warning continues for
the Coosa River near Logan Martin dam.
* From Thursday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 4:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 466.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 467.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
continue to rise to near 470.2 feet by Friday morning.
* Impact... at 467.0 feet... flooding of some boathouses and docks
around the lake occurs

The National Weather Service in Birmingham al has issued a

* Flood Warning for
Weiss Lake on the Coosa River.
* From Friday evening until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 10 am Wednesday the stage was 563.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 567 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Friday evening and continue to
rise to near 567.5 feet by Saturday evening. Additional rises are
possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 567 feet... flooding of Lakeside property occurs.
Some docks and boathouses become inundated.





1003 am CST Wed Jan 07 2009

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cahaba river near Cahaba Heights.
* Until Thursday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:30 am Wednesday the stage was 16.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
this evening.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... flooding of some commercial property in the
area begins. Floodind along the Cahaba will recede as the river
drops to below flood stage.
